The piece above was inspired by a painting briefly shown in Fifty Shades of Gray of a panda showing its reflection in the water. Instead of a panda I used my own pet. Unfortunately he passed away so soon and his death impacted me profoundly. I was still working on my first project when I already had the idea of my second piece.
He did live a happy life. Everything he did was filled with curiosity. One thing he did a lot would be when I take him to the lake he would stare at his reflection. Being the little puppy he was he would cock his head little to each side and never stop staring. It was one of his favorite things to do, just look at himself. Eventually I got him a little mirror and the confusion never ended. He was my best pal, it sucks not having him around anymore, I was so used to him being at my feet with every step I took. He was taken away too early. I miss him.

The image on the left is one of the last pictures I took of Ben, and since he looks spiritual I decided to use it for his memorial piece. Although he passed in early September, I was unable to finish this piece for another month due to how I felt about painting my best bud who was no longer there.
